Spruce (Picea abies)

• A slender coniferous tree growing up to 30 to 50 m high, with a trunk diameter reaching 1 to 1.5 m. Spruce grows quickly and lives approximately 150 to 300 years.
• This white to light yellow wood, soft and lightweight, with a fine texture and simple grain, is often used in construction and furniture making.
• Spruce wood is known for its excellent mechanical properties and good moisture resistance.
• It features higher density, strength, and a lower moisture diffusion coefficient. In timber constructions, this wood provides excellent durability and stability due to its limited moisture permeability.
• Spruce has a wide range of applications not only in construction and furniture making but also in the production of musical instruments due to its acoustic properties.

For our wooden houses, we use top-quality spruce BSH beams.

BSH (Brettschichtholz) beams are made from high-quality spruce wood, carefully selected based on density, structure, and appearance. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests, contributing to ecological stability. Before processing, the wood is carefully dried to an optimal moisture level (around 12 %), reducing the risk of deformation and cracking over time. The lamination process of individual layers (lamellas) is carried out under strict conditions using certified adhesives that are safe and moisture-resistant. Thanks to high-quality processing and treatment, BSH beams have a smooth surface and a pleasant color structure, adding to the aesthetic value of each project. BSH beams used in our buildings are certified and meet strict standards for quality and consistency of material properties, ensuring that our constructions are safe and durable.
